The Arizona AFS Team is always looking for families who can open up their homes and hearts to an exchange student. When you host an exchange student with AFS, you gain a new family member. We look for families who can provide the fundamentals:
- 3 meals a day
- a bed
- transportation to and from a nearby school
- to be treated like a member of the family
We value diversity and our host families are small/large, relaxed/active, single parent/two parents, LGBTQ+. Host families share love, humor, communication and a mutual respect for one another.
Students typically arrive in August and January - you can host for a semester or a full school year. As a host family, you volunteer to provide a student with the opportunity to learn, firsthand, about American culture. Students have their own personal spending money, full health benefits, and continuous support from our Arizona AFS volunteers.
